I think Randy's car had like 64k miles on it didn't it??? That can be a big difference (or no difference at all depending on how the car is kept!) and I think it ended up selling for just shy of $40k...maybe $38.5k or something like that...

Bottom line on Porsche purchases, I bought them for $64.5k and got back $63k. I think it was the best spent $1,500.00 of my life!

I'm not too sure what to make of auction end prices with high reserves not met because you're never sure how real it is. It would be better to see actual sale prices where the sale actually closes.

'94 with 5 speed. less than 50,000 miles=75K, this year.
Last year's price was probably about 55K-60K.

I just keep putting miles on my 94 Iris Blue Metallic/classic gray 5 speed. Miles are up to 62K from 42k when I got it 4 years ago. It's just so much fun I can't help myself.

Not likely on these. Look at comparable exotics with the same production numbers. People paying the prices for low mile GTS's, and GTS's are rare, are not going to be affected by humps and bumps in the market.

If you are prepared to drop $57k + on a 20yrs old super rare and exotic Porsche, which will never be replicated under one form or another, the fact that a mass produced 997 costs the same is totally irrelevant. Different markets and target audience.
When I bought my V10 M5 Wagon I could have bought a F355 for the same money, but it is kind of difficult to fit 4 people + baby chair + skiing gear in any Ferrari, let alone a V8 one...
If you were to buy the 928 as your only car, I think you have a more valid point, but I think then you would be looking at a $15k car, where you would have stiff competiton from 3.4 996s and late E46 M3...
