Default Throttle Cable Wheel Issue.

Guys,
Forgive my simple questions.
I removed the C clip and the wheel still is held on by what looks like a washer. I don't want to force things. I've PB'd it and doesn't seem to want to give. Any pearls from those who have been there before.
Thanks,
Craig

Craig,

I don't think there is something else other than the circlip.

Yes, Bertrand that is what I see too on PET. W
When I remove the circlip it resided between the top lip of the post and a bottom lip. The plastic wheel rides BELOW this bottom lip, hence I can't lift the wheel up and off.
Sorry I can't post a pic. My SLR was left in the rain - teenage kids !

Hell with f'n with the wheel.
Going to remove the bracket, held in on both sides that hold it in place.

Be sure to clean and de-oxy the 2 grounds that are held in place with the 2 bolts.

Thanks Shark.
They only look a little less 'shiny' then when I dealt with them year and a half ago.

Much better now to deal with the CPS.
Looks like a Dremel will be employed. Allen bolt is rusted down quite a bit. Without even attempting removal the tool just turns in it.
Well, here we go.

Nothing else but the circlip. I used a puller to get it off and more or less destroyed it. Corrosion makes it impossible to remove it normally. Ordered a new wheel, used some fine grit paper on the shaft and lubed it up good. The new wheel turn much lighter than the old wheel.

The wheel turned just fine with and without circlip. Just couldn't get it off.
No matter - even better exposure with the entire bracket out of the way.

Why not just leave alone if it works?

Yes, Mark I'm perfectly happy with the wheel. I just needed clearance to get to the CPS to remove it. I'll put on a new circlip and be satisfactorily done with it.

What you are seeing that looks like a washer on the wheel is its bearing. The plastic wheel gets brittle with age, so you are wise to leave it alone unless you want to replace it. Good luck with the CPS. If you can turn it, that's hopeful. They are often very stuck and will break off. Drilling is not fun but the only other option I know to get it out in that case is to remove the flywheel.
