filter replacement
I have made the opening slightly bigger by cutting the top ridge and removed the filter and replaced it

Replace with what - seems to be the question - internal or external for brake fluid?

Using Windows Explorer? Scroll up to Herman's second picture above. Put the cursor arrow on the image of the filter. Press the <CTRL> key and scroll with the mouse wheel at the same time, in the direction that makes the image larger to the point where you can read the part number from the filter element. Write tthe number down on something. Then do the same action in the opposite wheel direction until the display is back to normal size again.
I have mine zoomed to 150% all the time with the hi-res display and my tired eyes. Don't tell anybody.

Roger has BT and DT before:

The reservoir filter is: 964 355 183 00
Roger, is the filter available separately now, or still NLA?

Thanks folks I sprayed some service grease on the rusty lines as a temporary measure. I have the car back at the MOT station now, fingers crossed. I explained to the MOT guy that it was a PSD and he's happy and will ignore it during the re-test. Replacement lines and a service or on the cards when I have more time. Probably winter along with a bunch of other stuff. As far as I am aware the PSD is working, it's just the lines that are looking close to failure. No doubt I'll be back with more questions when I get round to doing this job. Thanks for the help.

The filter (as far as I know) is not available separately and not even listed in the Porsche system. Herman may know different as he has obviously found a source - care to share Herman?
I have researched all the major components to see where else they are used - pressure accumulator, pump and pressure switch. They are used on other ABS systems but no reservoir with filter. Seems that PSD as a system was only used on the 928.
Just need the time to find a suitable sized internal or external Hydraulic filter of a suitable micron capability - plenty out there.
