Fan Kit: Anyone use these guys?

Installed the Spal single fan on a 5 speed a couple weeks ago and saw some real reduction in temps in traffic, keeping the A/C cold even after sitting. For the auto cars I'd go with the Spal twin fan pushers.

Yeah Sean, can you "splain" more-better about the twin pusher: like why it is better (for roger-boxes) and how it would get installed? Inquiring minds want to know!

I had a Devek fan setup with twin Spal fans. After a couple of years one fan blade assembly came loose, rattled and finally came off the shaft. I bought a new replacement Spal. Did the same thing only sooner. Ordered another. It was loose on the shaft right away. Tried to shim it. Only worked for a few months. Ordered another, also loose on the shaft (could rock it easily). Gave up on Spal and went back to the original fan setup, which continues to work great.

Just to clarify, we didn't remove the factory fans, this was in addition to them.

Has anyone installed a Lincoln Mark VIII fan? I have heard those are pretty great at cooling and it is only 1 fan to wire in instead of 2, which is why I was thinking it would be a good alternative for us mechanical fan people. i.e pre S4.

My v12s order is cancelled, so there won't be a fresh customer review. The vendor doesn't seem eager to complete a sale.

Not impressed with their service either.

Well, I was going to wait until I had the first prototype, but I am making a replacement fan system using a pair of the SPAL 30102029 low-profile puller fans. These fans are very slim, have curved vanes for good acoustics, and reasonably low current draw averaging around 14A/fan.
SPAL offers a similar configuration in a plastic frame (30102130), which fits well on a 928 with slight modifications and easily fabricated brackets - HOWEVER - they dont make it clear in the literature that the secondary fan is NOT sealed. Their basic design premise is that Fan1 is a primary, and Fan2 is engaged with AC or other heavy load... and they specced this second fan as non-sealed.
I had the original plastic SPAL configuration on my 89, and the second fan seized under normal operation with just road grime in a short period of time (belly pans are off on my car, which probably lead to an even earlier demise.
The new fan system will also employ flaps for enhanced high pressure cooling, and a mount for optional PWM fan controller.
I am tweaking the design now to try and make the shroud easier to remove on dual cooler cars. Anyone who has had dual coolers with the stock shroud know what a pain it can be to try and get in there without removing the lines first.
I am expecting prototype units in the next 10 days.
Thanks
Hans

Would it be possible to have the fan shroud extend down past the radiator to enshroud the external oil coolers of the '90+ cars? You could have flaps down there that open at speed so in that situation, the shroud doesn't obstruct flow.
