Default 84S rear wing????

Has any one attempted to apply a rear wing on a 928S, I haven't really seen one only the earlier ones. Would I have remove the rubber at the back or you think it would look okay with bothp I'm wanting to save up for this MOD

I wish I could have the pre S4 rubber on my S4. I think it is a more understated look, and I like that. I'm not a big fan of the S4 wing. I have it painted well, but if it were a simple off, I would. Leave your's the way it is.

I like the mini wing it has now, it has a nice stance, but I want someting to pop, of course if it can't be done or if requires more than I'm willing to spend It might just stay the same. I just want to see any that have attempted nd maybe see how they look

the S4 wing makes a great breakfast lunch or dinner table or drink holder
I think the earlier wing has a subtle coolness that the S4 is missing

I think to put one on is not all that much. Four well placed holes, and then securing the wing.

What would be the fine work would be getting the old material off cleanly.

Or.........just whack the wing entirely and have that nice smooth butt like the original 928 had!

Paul,
Your's looks very nice. After I clean my plate of life's (along with 928) issues, may be I will tend to this.

Just go for the early look by getting a early rear hatch. Heck, this will even give you the chance to eliminate the rear wiper without plugs. I like my 81 without its wing. Less weight to slow it down.

I have thought about doing just that with my car come time for paint, the idea of a completely clean back is very tempting. Has anyone else done this?

Every once and a while a car will show up on Ebay, or at one of the gatherings documented here with an S4 wing added to an S model. My internal response is always the same. "huh.?.?.?.," then "why".
I am far from a purist, I have had a S4 wing on my current 79 and have previously converted a 83 S model to a S4 rear end, however, to use both just looks goofy, IMHO.

kelanel: Check out my avatar, or seek out pictures of Rog100's GTS (from 928s R Us) along with a few others from his area with "The Dallas Look" Look Ma: No wing, no wiper!
