Looking at picking up this lift. Has anyone had any experience with these? There is a video link down the page. Looks like a lot of lift for the price...

Mike,

That's the lift we have, been using it regularly for about five years. It is solidly built and has been trouble-free so far. I am completely happy with the lift and with Bend-Pak, a good company with real people who answer the phone and answer questions. I would choose it again.

Cheers, Jim

Same price as best buy equipment and free shipping as well. http://www.asedeals.com/garage_lift.html

Hard to go wrong with a Bend Pak if posts on the interblab are an indication. Check the forums at Garage Journal.

Why you no want a 2 post lift?

I have one, I was surprised how well they were built.

Another surprise was how inexpensive it was to order from a local installer, they get them much cheaper than you can online so even with install and sales tax it is still a deal. For me it was an extra $400 over the online price, never have to lift anything and comes with a guarantee.

Best $400 i ever spent.

I have had mine about a year. Works great. I assembled it by myself in less than a day.

How much did they charge for delivery to the house? What was the total cost?

I have the HD9-ST and have been very happy with it. I was able to assemble it myself without too much trouble.

They have a link on their website, if you order extras (casters/drip tray etc ..) the price becomes even more competitive.

I just got the plastic drip trays.

Like others have said it is not impossible to do yourself but good to know there are other options.

Thanks so much for all your replies. I'm looking for a local installer... Anyone know of a source in SoCal?

Do these require any modifications to the floor? Thicker concrete? Bolt holes? Or are they stand alone lift? Couldn't find any info online.

Lift is freestanding, no bolt holes.

From the owner's manual on the mfr's website:

This lift must be installed on a solid level concrete floor with no more than 3-degrees of slope. Failure to do so could cause personal injury or death.

A level floor is suggested for proper use and installation and level lifting. If a floor is of questionable slope, consider a survey of the site and/or the possibility of pouring a new level concrete slab.

DO NOT install or use this lift on any asphalt surface or any surface other than concrete.
DO NOT install or use this lift on expansion seams or on cracked or defective concrete.
DO NOT install or use this lift on a second / elevated floor without first consulting building architect.
DO NOT install or use this lift outdoors.

Ahhh thank you... Would love to have a lift but I don't own my own house yet so this could be something to use in a rental situation =)
