Default 87 S4 on ebay - unique interior, one of the nicest I've seen

There's this beautiful looking 87 S4 (5 speed too) for sale on ebay that caught my eye. Just had to share it with the folks here. Anyone here own this car?

I've never seen an interior this color before with wood grain accents in the console and doors...very nice looking.

Yes, very nice. Looks like a (very) compatible combination of factory wood on the console and aftermarket inserts on the doors. You can tell the door inserts are aftermarket because the wood is connected from the area underneath the door handle trim to the long horizontal run above the armrest. The factory door inserts have separate wood sections, one below and one horizontal.

yes it is beautiful. I actually put a bid in on it - like I need another car like a hole in the head. But I figured if I got it, I'd sell the Mustang. Anyway, my bid was too low (as I knew it would be) and quickly outgunned (it's early in the auction too). I'm out (I thkink). I do wonder what the reserve is.

I'll never understand the desire for an all black interior with options like that on the table.

Honda Civic's come with all black interiors, a car like the 928 should have something more luxurious.

Seeing an all black interior on an Aston Martin gives me a headache, such a waste.

Mahogany - nice and warm in tone - with matching burl wood. It doesn't get much nicer than that!

I have never seen a wood center console insert with two instruments before - what is the left one?

I just realized I know this car, it was in Green Bay getting some work done by our local 928 guru.

You've sure changed your tune (kidding! from this old thread of mine)

I'm still on the fence about my interior.. well, sorta. I've gone with replacing the black leather with black again for the dash/console/quarters/pod/headliner.

I just haven't picked which shade I want for the seats/carpet/door inserts. Leading candidates are mahogany, can-can red, or (boring option) one of the tan shades.

Have to say, the full mahogany in this '87 S4 doesn't look quite right to me next to the guards red
