Default Pics of Mahogany interiors - considering interior change

I want to change the interior of my '89 S4. Its all black with red piping on the seats - and its just too much black, especially the carpet.

Its a full leather interior (everything except the pod), and I'd like to change the seats, door inserts, manual shifter boot and carpets to Mahogany - depending on how it works visually. Mahogany's been my favourite S4 interior for a while.

I'll keep the dash/console/headliner/quarters/door cards and armrests in black leather.

Does anyone have photos of Mahogany interiors with other colours mixed in? Or just good quality mahogany shots that can be photoshop'ed to make the dash/console/door handles/door uppers/rear quarters black?

Here's a pic to get this thread rolling:

here is a link with some other ideas , maybe swap out the carpet to your favorite carmel or tan or cashmere, and leave the rest black with carpet colored door inserts

I've seen a few black/tan factory interiors.. e.g. the pic below is Biggs' old GTS.

That's why I'd like to get some good Mahogany interior pics for photoshopping the dash/console etc. black - I think it might work, but not $6k dollar sure yet

Thanks for the link stan - Afshin's old GT is another example of the scheme I'm thinking of, only in a different colour (looks like Classic Grey with black dash etc.?)

I considered changing just the carpets - but due to the red piping on the seats of my 89, the only carpet that would work is bright red (lipstick red maybe?) - otherwise it would be too busy.

That would be a great idea but I don't think it will work with the red piping on his seats.

The car needs a repaint anyway.. and GTS quarters It would have been cheaper to start with a car with a color-scheme I liked, except that RHD, non-sunroof, digital dash, 5-speed cars are fairly rare (24 globally).

My 89 is my project car The goal is something akin to Dan H's turquoise car - although not turquoise, and not with a stroker in it.. so maybe not much like Dan's car!

Here's an old pic of the interior (currently has no rear quarters, headliner or other interior bits installed - dash, headliner, quarters etc. are going to be recovered). All the interior panels are leather except the pod - full leather makes a huge difference to the feel of a 928.

If it were mine, I would dye the red piping black and change the carpet and door inserts to the color of choice.

After that was finished, I would decide about dyeing the console and lower dash.

Mixing saddle/sand/mahogany with black can look great. Lots of ways to do it. Find the thread with the Ingram 312 mile 1989 GT, it had a nice interior in that color. Also A member here from the colorado area used to have a great interior as his avatar. It is also the most common mix in modern fcars.

For what its worth, I think the 928 interiors really come alive when they are in two tone.. they go from being a bit dour and bland to looking classy, fantastic and cool with a two tone interior colour scheme.
My S is all blue and I have got all the bits now to change to a two tone ( and much happier ) place to be.

At least you have some red piping, mine interior is all black. Looks very drab, dated, and cheap. My plan is to eventually change out the carpet to Camel. I saw one like this at SITM in 2012 and it really makes the interior pop. Also, in my opinion you need a color to contrast with the mahogany or all your effort is wasted. The tan(?) leather with Mahogany accents in the pics above don't do the Mahogany justice (my opinion).
