Oh, agree, a miata is a great track car. A lot of the PCA guys up here have bought one of those to supplement their track Porsche's and are saying it's more fun overall. Less cost when things go bad also.

And really...how can you -not- want to get into spec class racing watching their races.
35 cars on the green, separated only by driver skill, with bare minimal chassis options (alignment, suspension height by adding OEM spring rubber spacers) and the high HP cars are not a factor in who wins.
Awesome.

Don't encourage me hahaha. I plan on tracking my 928 a bit when the time comes but I fear I could buy a miata with the money it is going to take to get my 928 there.... but I have a feeling it will be worth it to spend it on the 928! =) I'm about to sell my 99 neon and use the money from that to get new cam gears and do tb/wp.

want to learn how to drive on track, then move on to racing for a COST EFFECTIVE basis.... There really are only two options.... Miata or E30.... both are well populated spec racing classes and you can start with a fun to drive platform and slowly build up as your budget allows....
I'll be clear....while the 928 is "sorta" cost effective....its worlds more expensive than a miata or E30 to repair....not to mention upgrade....that damn "P" word always doubles the price

I've read a few of the Miata guys threads, buy them dirt cheap, part out the non track items, may some boneyard trips and off to the track, beat it to death, repeat.

that's why I race a 928 and a stick. never see miss a session, race, or anything. the car is ALWAYS ready to go and fixes are just a few tool strokes away, always!
bummer you have a starter issue. you cant bump start it to really see what the issue is.
