Surely Sean needs a 5-speed

I thought black was still single stage in '88? (in which case it may be a repaint, or the "cleacoat issue" might be oxidation which could be buffed off)

(plus it'll be able to use chips Porken's developing)

Depending on the miles and if the paint is salvalgable it could be a good project car.

I love them in black.
Would look great with the flat wheels polished out.

(looking for that spare $6k I had laying around. Oh, that's right, used it for parts for THIS car)

Talked to the seller yesterday for quite a while, still trying to decide if I need a 4th :-) Wanted to go by after Cars n Coffee today and look at it, but he is busy until tomorrow. Someone from Austin is coming tomorrow to see it I believe.

I drove this car a couple of hours ago. I'm definitely passing, it has LOTS of issues. The seller seemed like a straight shooter, but just doesn't know a lot about 928's. He said someone in Missouri was very interested. If you are reading this, PM me for more info. I took lots of pics too.

Hmmm, I guess so. The seller was going to make a video after I left for the guy in Missouri so he must have liked what he saw.

My observations
- Bad vibration, probably torque tube
- Driver's mirror lose flopping around
- Bad respray, defects all over, not just on top
- Odometer stopped at 139k
- Impact on rear shattered paint on bummer
- Shift boot missing
- Console door ripped
- No service history, but could probably get it by calling the shop shown on the licence plate bracket.

On the upside, the engine ran decent and the shift bushings seemed to be in good shape. Dash not as cracked as some I've seen. The car could be nice again but will take a lot of work and a full respray.

Thanks, this is interesting as I am considering selling my bro's old 5-speed S4. I think my car is mechanically more sound but perhaps a bit worse off in interior cosmetics. I wonder what it sold for?

Seller told me $4500 was the least he'd take. Still passed.

My number was as of last weekend, we didn't talk price yesterday at all. He may have come down some. Still, I would have passed at 4500 too.
