Default FS 1985 928S

Hi everybody. I bought a 1985 928S this past winter for a summer project. Unfortunately, the garage I was going to rent fell through. My lost is your gain.

It’s a 1985 928S with approx 79,000 miles. It spent most of its life in HI. I bought it from a guy in NB this past winter.

I’ll explain the good and bad of the car. I will be very honest in its condition. I will proubly hurt myself but I sleep well at night

Mechanical:

The engine is strong. I was going to do the timing belt job because the PO could not give any receipt on when it was done. I do have a stack of receipts when it was in HI. I believe it will need an alternator regulator because after it starts, you need to rev it up for the voltage to show on the dash. Also, I was going to do an intake refresh because the rubber looks like the original. It does drive and shifts well. No engine leaks.

Exterior:

The paint is original and has a few small rust spots and a few small peeling paint areas. The passenger rear quarter panel was repainted. It does have Rare 16” cup wheels in great shape with Bridgestone high end tires. The passenger key slot is damage. The front spoiler is missing the middle section.

Interior:

Overall interior in good shape. The dash has a dash cap on it that warped. The seats have small rips but overall not too bad. The rear seats are great. The steering wheel in great shape. The front windshield pillars leather is shrinking. The Tach does not work. It has a aftermarket stereo with 6 CD changer and old school high end amp. It does not leak water into the interior, even with 2inch per hr rainfall.

It comes with the original window sticker and assorted parts.

If you have any question, feel free to contact me at jhp944@gmail.com

I paid 5.4K delivered for it. I think I paid a little high. I will sell it for $4,500 obo

More photos to come tomorrow.

GLWS; that seems like a very good price for a running 85 in relatively decent shape.

Good luck with the sale. I think some better pictures would go along way though for the sale. An attractive price, it should go quickly.

Sorry about the car being so dirty. I buffed the passenger quarter panel a bit with light compound . The gloss came back fairly well

I think you are correct. The pics of the car in the garage are from the PO and I remembering him stating he had one.

I'm getting a lot of interest on EBay. But , most are people that do not know much about 928's. I would love for a Rennlister to buy it and get it in tip top shape!!!

Fair offers rarely get made, put a price on it you can live with to sell it quickly.
