Default First Settlers Region PCA club info wanted

Any PCA First Settler's regional members online? I'd like to learn more about the club but its facebook and webpage don't have much current activity (if I'm looking in the right places).

Understand they have a regular breakfast meeting in the Hampton Roads area, but don't know the location/times...could be fun to show up in my 928.

Thanks - MM

Hey, MM.

I'm the President. Happy to chat with you about the club. If you drop me an email or PM, I'll shoot you my cell no.

Our website, www.fsrpca.org, has an upcoming event list and an event calendar. You can also go to our MotorsportReg club page for event info and registration for non-breakfast events:

www.fsrpca.motorsportreg.com

We have two breakfasts, both at 0900 - the first Sat of each month is at the Silver Diner in Glen Allen and the 2nd Sat is at the Pop's Diner in Chesapeake. We're also preparing to poll the club for interest in starting a breakfast in Williamsburg.

On Sunday, 9 June, the Colony Auto Enthusiasts are having a invitational car show featuring Porsche at Merchants Square. There'll be 18 Porsches on display, many of which are FSR member owned. If you're free, drop by, I'll be there with my GT.

Count me in for a Williamsburg breakfast!

I heard that your GT will be in Merchant's Square on the 9th. Anxious to see it.

George, Bill -- thanks for the info. I do intend to register and hope you begin a regular gathering in the Williamsburg area. Always thought Williamsburg could be a great host to a large gathering of Porsches. It's winery hosts the "Vette's for Vet's" fund raiser/car show; the Ride for Recovery just rode thru last night; the Colonial Parkway is here; just a pretty area. Mike

Agreed, it's a great location and more or less the demographic center of our region. We have our annual Open Board Meeting/Lunch or breakfast in Wmsbg and will typically have one or two other events there during the year. In 2010 our annual charity event was at the WW, 2011 had a rally and BBQ at a member's house and New Year Party back at WW, 2012 charity event at the Hotel and Conf Center and our last 2 New Year gigs were at Kingsmill. We'll probably do one of our larger events there next year.

Some folks aren't hip on PCA, but I think it's a great organization. Every region has it's own personality and we have a great group that welcomes all models, likes to drive, have fun and socialize. We have 2 DEs a year at VIR and raise quite a bit for charity as well. We were honored as PCA Region of the Year last year, so that's gotta say somethin'.

We'd love to have you join us... the more Sharks the better.

Great club. Am a former member from Richmond.

928 friendly, lots of events.

George left his invite / card on daughter's red 928 in Va Beach recently, encouraging her and son in law to join.

Hey, what do you know -- Williamsburg is hosting its 5th Annual Invitational Car Show this Sunday, June 9th from 10 am to 3 pm to honor the Porsche marque and the 50th anniversary of the 911. 19 Porsches join 55 select cars from throughout the world in Merchants Square this Sunday -- free to the public!

Thx. I forgot to mention that. The Colony Auto Enthusiasts (Ford's Colony Residents) are hosting their show this Sunday.

There will be 19 Porsches, most of which are First Settlers member owned. The list is pretty comprehensive, from a Beck 550 Spyder and '57 Speedster to a Panamera. We did our best to represent most model lines within the number restrictions we had.

I'll be out there with my GT.

Thanks, Mike. Glad you made it out to the show and it was great to put a face to a screen name.

Hope to see you at an FSR event soon... you and the other 3 Shark owners that joined in the last month... woohoo!
