Illuminating the shifter symbols is not difficult. I used a 4 inch LED strip and tied it into the Black/Blue wire to the cigarette lighter light. I simply adhesed it under the panel.
The AC fan switch is possible to illuminate. Do a Search. Someone had a write up on it. It is involved. The rear AC switches - not possible.
