Default Am I supposed to have a trunk hatch interior light?

I seem to have a hole in the trunk hatch above the tool kit with a green, brown and white wire dangling out. See below link to photo:

I'm presuming it's for another interior light. I've looked at previous threads and there is a discussion about a trunk interior light. However, a look at the Porsche parts catalogue for the '82 and '86 doesn't show one listed on either model. I have an '84 Euro RHD. Without a parts listing I don't have a part number and can't replace it. Can anyone show me a pic of what's supposed to be there and provide a part number? Thanks Tim

The space certainly looks like it is for a light. The wires look like they're for a light. The owner's manual that was posted for you in the de-mister thread says there is a light. Here is a link to PET. Find your car. Find the part. http://www.porsche.com/usa/accessori...artscatalogue/

My 85 has one there. It's the same "rocker" style that's above the windshield and above the back seats.
Part #911 632 102 00.

It's the exact same light that's been used in every single 928 from '78 through '95.

Yes. As the others said: same as the rest of the interior lights and the same for all models.
Usually a lot of them on ebay as well. Search for porsche interior light. (I have no affiliation with the sellers)

Yep those are interior light wires - missing is the same crappy light used on all 928's in both hatch and center roof positions.

You'd do well to upgrade to something better - like the later model VW lights - and if you don't like the sound of VW parts in your Porsche - note that the stock ones started out as VW usage lights also - made by Hella IIRC.

Just put the VW part in mine. Better product all around, and fits right in.

Hows about a link to a VW light source?

I've been wanting to install a couple in my GTS.

Thanks.

Roger (ROG100 928srus) stocks them and the pigtails to match, plenty of threads on rennlist on this.

nope - my 78 does not have that light. It only has the one up between the rear hatch sun flaps.

Well pointed out Randy V! Thank you everyone for the advice. I usually say thank you - I was just rather distracted by my terrible misfire I've been battling with ;-)
