IMHO, its more the sound of a old V8 pickup with no exhaust on it..not a muscle car sound at all.
Muscle car exhaust, is much more rounded..and well, muscle car.

I wouldnt damage the cat you have better to buy a Y pipe or an X pipe and store the cat it will be worth some bux in a few years thats if its not all rusted
