Passenger window problems

Hi
Just received my new to me 1988 928 S4 this evening. (Guards Red, 54 k miles, pictures coming soon). On the drive home I noticed the passenger window would not go down. Drivers side works, and so does the sunroof. Cruise control doesn't work.
I know the previous owner had issues with the fuel pump relays getting it to start recently.
Any checklists for solving this mystery?
Thanks
Brian

First, try this: put ze candle beck...oh, wait, that only works for bookcases, not windows...
So, certainly the primary components to check are the switch and the motor. The switches and the plugs that connect them to the windows are located in the center console behind the cardboard/carpet side panels, which are held in with several screws.
The thread below should help. However, there should be a way to short pins on the connector headed to the window motor from the switch, as opposed to the switch itself, but I don't see that info (that would be slightly less trouble for confirming a switch issue than swapping driver/passenger switches or performing the "short" on the switch contacts themselves...but alas my wiring diagrams aren't digital so not handy).

Time for new switches anyway. See Roger at 928srus.com and get the updated soft touch illuminated switches. You can customize the logos too.

Passenger window wires at the switch connector (4 pin) are Grey/Blue & Grey/Brown (on the switch side these are Black & Green respectively). If you unplug the switch & apply power to these directly the window will move either up or down depending on polarity. You can also just measure the resistance between these wires it should not be OC. If there are issue here you need to dig into the door to get to the motor connector and possibly even to take the motor out - this is actually not so bad to do...
