Are you sure it went down that hole? It seems a bit big for it.

Dr. Bob and I had the exact damned thing happen during his intake R&R back in 2011. Pulled the passenger side injector rail off, one of the injectors popped out of the intake easily so there was a single ~3/8" hole open. Was reinstalling the injector retainer bail on the injector plug, and the bail flipped off, did a double-back with a half twist, and disappeared down the intake runner. Couldn't have replicated it with another 100 tries......

They're ferrous metal.

Was HALF down a valve, and the auto parts store had the super small magnet end, with a endlessly flexible shaft..no probs.

Now..I set the LH for 36# injectors, and it dont wanna start..Fp fuse/relay coming up, when I get back home.

straight in, any direction, it cant go in OR out.

But walk it in like a large couch thru a small apartment door, and goes right in.

I love the panty hose idea ... and over the end of Mr. Merlin's homemade tool it might eliminate the "magnet gets stuck in the hole" problem, too.

Jeff,

Just to be clear here, I take it you recovered the clip- did you remove the inlet manifold or did you manage to get it out the aperture it fell through?

Good recovery if I understand the situation.

Regards

Was able to fish it up to the injector hole, then needle nose pliers to pull it thru.

I couldnt get it to 'walk' thru the hole the way it so so soooo naturally fell down it.
