Default Rear facing baby seat 928

I'm at the hospital as I type this, wife is having a girl. Should arrive by tomorrow. Her first, my second. Daily driver broke down at the Last minute. So my new child's first ride will be in a 928. Problem is, seems the rear facing car seat only fits in the front. I tried removing one of the seat cushions on the rear seat to try getting it to fit without moving the drivers seat so far forward that I'm up against the steering wheel. Wondering if there is a more suitable way to get a rear facing in the back. Maybe certain brands etc. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Congrats! I did the same with our Boy in my '86 911. If there is no air bag up front i think it is OK. IIRC, The baby seats designed by Porsche for their older cars are to be used up front.
I don't think your Wife would agree with me though.

For my older daughter, going on 5, I just removed the armrests from a grayco seat and had a new cover made, it's pretty cool, same material my dash was done in and an emblem sewn in. It fits fine but its a front facing.

Problem at back seat is length of safetybelt. Afaik porsche seats are made by brita, at least they look the salme. For belt issue there are extenders available.

Congrats!
Honestly, just take her home on back roads and drive slow. We have survived for eons as a species up to now without the benefit of those seats. I'll bet not one single person on this forum came home from the hospital in a rear facing rear car seat. I guess the hospital may not let you take her without it tho.

Graco Snugride fit in my back seat easily in rear facing position without the base, with front seat moved nearly all the way forward. Luckily my wife is 5'3" so she could still fit up front.

When they outgrow the infant seat, but aren't big enough to face front, it gets more difficult. My 1y.o. doesn't ride in the 928 that much, but when she does she's in a rear-facing Diono Radian in the front seat.

One thing bugs me about putting a child in the back seat of a 928...the large expanse of glass over their heads. I feel better with her up front. My daughter did enjoy the panoramic views from back there in a rear facing seat.

I'm not sure what the problem is here!

I've got a 13 week old and her Britax car seat fits fine in the back of my 928 (she seems to prefer it over the other cars )

Mom (5'6") still fits fine in the front too!

Depends on the baby seat, It seem the one that he has is too big.

If your car does not have 3-point belts in the back you need to a)replace them b)use a seat that is suitable to be used in 2-way belts (yes, Britax for example has those models) or c)do a 4-point custom harness and put connect the baby seat to your ''sabelt" setup =).

Also the stock belts tend to be too short so either use extender or switch the stock belts to longer ones.

Our kids just love the sound of the V8 and my older daughter (3y) can hear from miles away "that has to be daddy's porsche"

Ditto waht David Alford wrote. I used a Graco Snug Ride without the base behind the passenger seat, then passenger seat almost all the way forward. It fit fine. I was REAL happy when the girls got to be big enough for the front facing Sunshine Radian. Congrats.
