"sat for last 12 years in my garage. priviously the car ran great, i got mad when my timing belt light came on 15 months after i had it replaced. same with brake light. my repair shop told me to pay $7,000 to $12,000 to do it again. i immediately bought a new car and retired the porsche. from this forum, i have found out that they were dishonest on part pricing and procedures to complete jobs.
i didn't know about draining fluids to store it, and i understand the fuel system needs to be attended to first. tow required, tires worthless.
car is gorgeous inside and out, very low miles. few tiny flaws i can post close up pics of.
custom, probably one of a kind color combination from factory of linen grey metallic and linen (or parchment - have to look it up) leather interior, with burgandy dashboard and inside trim. all original paint (except one panel exactly matched by dealership) not faded anywhere, no body problems except one less than dime size ding, a barely noticeable scratch under the fender, and 2 other very small issues. interior is also in excellent shape, with one very small, fixable worn spot, no tears. bbs wheels. original wheels available in separate sale. never smoked in, looks practically new.
purchased early in 1990 from porsche dealership and drove it for 10 years. never had engine damage, electrical was fine, a/c worked perfectly. had one minor dent, fixed. 5th tire, fishnet piece and owner's manual included - i was told all the parts were here, except some tools.
regarding pictures: all lines and stuff that look like a scratch or issue, are only reflections. there are a couple small scratches, plus some superficial marks that should buff out. yellowed leather in photos is from the camera's flash shadow, color is consistent with no actual yellowing. will post photo of engine soon.
given all that non op time, and the age, i feel comfortable that you guys know what will be required to own and love this automobile. porsche thought this particular car was worth $83,000 when they sold it 24 years ago. not everyone feels that way nowadays, except porsche mechanics."

Yeah saw this one and definitely worth strong consideration. Lets see..TB/WP replace + brakes + 4 new tires, plus possible new fuel pump + fuel lines + gas tank drain + ??? + a 400 mile tow.
Very nice looking car though...

IF the car has just sat in the garage for 12 years, it should not take that much to get it road worthy. If I had the garage space, I'd be down there already with a U-Haul truck and car trailer. A week or so changing out the critical parts, and it should be good to go. 89 is my over all favorite year and this one at the very least looks cosmetically very, very good, and with the low miles it should not need not much more than a proper timing belt job, some (well, maybe a lot) seals, various hoses, tank flush, and all other fluids changed. Sure, maybe the rack is leaking too, etc., but stored indoors in a dry climate away from city pollution, rubber bits and other things could be in much better condition than that, like my car.

I spoke with the owner for a nice long time yesterday. Wonderful lady that was hosed over and over again by Porsche mechanics. She is looking for a very specific buyer. It looks like it is already sold if the buyer comes through from Portland.... I was hoping for that beauty to fill the open spot in my garage

BTW...from the pics, looks like it needs a front spoiler too..and I'm guessing if the mechanics were as crappy as stated..the pans are probably gone too.

She origionally called me to buy it. She's a very nice lady and I'm not suprised she has not responded. I'm guessing she does not spend much time on the internet.
