Fred,
If you have not returned to Oman already, give me a call when you land and if you have time, pop in and see the "Purple Pigs" progress before heading back to Muscat.
Cheers

The 928 GTS I was offered I should ave a pic of it. It was offered to me by a local chap after I saw the advertisement and I am pretty sure it was the one you ended up with. It had not done much mileage and had wheels that I am pretty sure are the ones you have so go figure. I should have some a pics of it somewhere on a redundant hard drive from my now defunct laptop. If I get chance I will try to see if I can extract to compare. As I remember the ask was about DHMs 85k some time not long after I wrecked my S4 so we are talking about 7 years ago I think.
Of course you are most welcome to pop by if you are in town.
I put the GTS breather system on to help it look like a GTS motor which it pretty much does prior to latest mods. I reckon with the GTS breather it simply consumes more oily vapours.
Now, with my current mods, the motor can seemingly breath much freer I reckon but the outlet pipe from the pro vent does not seem to have any oily residue in it the Pro vent for sure is catching oil so hopefully it all works and my overall oil consumption will [hopefully] drop noticeably- we shall see.

There has been another white GTS uncovered in Dubai recently. This one was more unlucky, after it snapped a timing belt a local garage had a go at doing a rebuild. They bored and honed the cylinders in an unknown manner. They just screwed the whole thing up. I reckon it will be needing a new block.
I just invested in a ProVent too, I am using about a liter of oil per tank of fuel... It's ridiculous.

I think that was a different one, 7 years ago this car was owned by a Norwegian guy I believe, judging by the name on the service history.

I'll let you know how the breather mods work out- I thought my oil consumption was excessive but that is really chronic by the sound of it. Still, Porsche did give quite some BS saying oil consumption may be as much as 1 litre per 500km. I guess only Porsche could get away with things like that.
My 6 litre V12 jag does not consume any oil I can measure.

Your 928 may well be a different one but I find it unlikely that there were two white 1993 GTS's with wheels so similar. if you know when ownership changed that might be a clue because someone may have purchased the car with a view to making a quick buck.
I cannot remember exactly when I saw the car I have in mind. I was without a 928 for about a year or so. That means ownership had to be within the last 6 years or so.

It could have been the French guys white GTS or the other one which is somewhere in Diera. The GTS I like was the electric green one which blew its engine and sitting at AR for a long time.

WOW 928s in Dubai- That's rare I've been to Dubai 5 times this year itself & never seen a 928. Only 90s classic I seen is the 90s 500SL & 2 doors C140 S600. Most cars in Dubai are new with the Mixture of Japanese and American cars. I love to see the 2013 shape Mustang(Redesign front & LED rear), Dodge Challenger, Charger when they zoom on the Dubai Sheikh Zahid highway!! These cars are rare to me as they are not available in Brunei.
How do get 928 parts in Dubai? Do they sell it there or order from USA?
