Can someone explain why this intake is superior?

Both. Runner length is also crucial in generating the engine's torque and HP throughout the RPM range.

The length of the runners will lead to a nice torque curve, but the reason it should be better is more even flow between all runners.
The stock manifold has huge variances between ports.

Bitchen ! Glad it's out of moth *****, I hope it's going on a stroker mtr, Any details ?
or maybe a 5.0 ltr light weight race mtr, into a white car ??
Keep the pics coming !

Great question!

An engine is an air pump. The more air you can push in and out, the more power it will make (assuming that you add/mix enough fuel to use that air).

My current limit is that I can't get any more air into my engines.....and even if I make changes to get more air....the fuel required just "runs" down the ports and makes puddles.

This manifold is all about getting more air into my engines.....and a couple more little details....like significantly better fuel mixing....and cooler air.

Definately cool stuff Greg.

Have you run this intake yet?

Anticipating power report.

Keep up the good work.

Porsche has a bunch of very smart engineers so given the task of making an intake for a 5 liter to 5.5 liter making 320-350 HP that works from 850 rpm in the automatic, they DID just that !!! Little wonder that it is less than ideal trying to flow enough for a 6.5 , or hot camshafts, or RPM over 6,500

Not concerned with the fuel "fog" building up and pooling in the gap between the flanges and the silicone couplers to the runners? One would think having the injector bosses on the other side of that coupler would be ideal. Granted, having them further back, at higher rpm/velocity may yield better atomization pre-valve head. Kind of like stand-off injectors on ITB motors.

Looking for a 50 horsepower gain on the best of my street stroker engines.

I've done quite a bit of airflow work on the stock manifold and I've got street engines that make 425RWHP with one of those manifolds.

I'm hoping for better gains on the engines that don't have significant modifcations to the stock manifold.

Try to keep in mind that I'm talking about very conservative street engines that run on 91 octane "crap" fuel and will idle behind an automatic transmission....not engines with modifications that require the use of race fuel or don't like to idle below 1000rpm, with a manual transmission.

There's quite a bit of difference between those two "styles" of engines, in my world.
