built this 304 stainless exhaust at my buddies shop today. 14" magnaflow in the back. what a nice sounds. good rumble when i nail it, but smooth and purrs great while cruising.
OBX vbands added to headers
took a while to figure out the angles...
first pipe/ merge done
mounted.
rear pipe section
all done with second pope
custom brackets
mounted
and the tip
i will post a few others tomorrow.....
see if you can fab up a heatshield or use header wrap of some sort for the area near the CV joint in the back. The boot will not last long in such close proximity to the heat from a dual exhaust stream flowing in a single pipe.
Nice set up!!
you put a lot of work into that. interesting you moved the O2 so far downstream so you would get readings from the combined flow.
I fabricated from prebent sections of 3" SS. with the initial 2-1 merge magnaflow just behind my headers where the CAT would be, it was too loud. so added a round magnaflow at the rear where the pumpkin was, not shown.
still need to get it to my buddy's shop to weld it up. so far the band clamps have held up.
and per Tony's note, need to consider a heat shield for the axle boot.
hope to see you and this exhaust if you can make it down to NKY for the spring drive and meet end of the month.
Very nice looking, but your merge seems a bit different from mine.
tried to make the flow as liner as possible. welded up fantastically.
had to do it twice. the first one i welded up "shrunk" so the v bands would not meet up at the headers unless you REALLY got in there with a pry bar. i did not want any tension, let alone that much on the headers. so i made another one...
getting some wrap today for that little spot by the axle boot.
i will try to get a video and sound clip up today. No drone at all, that flowmaster was nothing but drone. sounded cool, but way to harsh.
