Good idea. I would think there would be some rub marks in the paint from the rub strips themselves.

Thank you NordicSaab, the car is an '83S it was slateblau, but my Sikkens paint
guy decided to mix it more blue, so it's uberslateblau now.
It looks great in person(w/o side moldings), pleased..

I was thinking of removing the black from the door lock bezels, i like the early chrome..
Still trying to find late 951 PDs also..

That's pretty slick. I'll have to keep that in mind as my side mouldings are in terrible shape.

I just did a thread on repainting the rub strips while still on the car. It really is not hard to get a good result as long as you find the right color match.

From the pics, the plugs are hardly noticeable. Sharp looking car!!
