928's Heading to Porsche Parade?

I plan on heading up, but don't have any plans for accommodation. At least will be there for the parade weekend.
Trying to talk the rev limiter into going and making a summer vacation out of it, but she's not biting yet. Even when I suggested we could spend some time on Mackinac.
Maybe we could get a few guys to go in on renting a beach front condo and turn it into a a frat house for the weekend end. Seriously, the primary Resort is already booked, but it might be fun to have a primary 928 hotel picked out.

I put a synopsis into the first post... Looks like many 928's are coming. It should be fun to watch this get together grow...

Any other 928 get togethers happening in MI?
I recall something about Hell?
Reminds me of a Road and Track quote about the 928. "The 928 is so vault like, that you could drive one through hell and find yourself asking? Was it warm in there?"
Not exact quote... But you get the idea...

Great response from the mid-west...
Looks like it is appropriate to name an alternative hotel/condo/frat house location...
Ideas?

Count me in!!
If James hasn't taken possession of the the 93GTS by then I will drive that. If he has, then I will drive up one of my 89 S4's
yeah I think it would be great if we could all meet up someplace
BTW... for those of you who have never been to TC. There are some beautiful roads and places to visit along the lake shore. I would recommend taking "22" from Glen Arbor to Newport. Lots of great winery's also

I'll be there. Will arrive Sat to have Concours prep time on Sun and pick up wife at the airport.
Anyone have a line on who else might be doing the Conours (Preservation group, PS07T)? Just curious about the competition.
I think all we have to do is ask. What do we want from PCA? They'll do a Registry if we want one (independent of "The 928 Registry" or not - not may be the way to go). They have lots of resources and I don't think they'll exercise any unreasonable control.
Each PCA region has its own personality. James had great experiences and so have I. We also have a great group that likes to have fun, on the road/track and off. We've been successful as well at the national level, even being awarded Region of the Year for 2012. The recogition is really nice. Our membership loves all cars (not just Porsches) and has never shunned anyone, at least as long as I've been active.
James, I'll be happy to be in on the conversation with National whenever you want to start it.

I agree... I keep hoping we will have more folks join the 928 Owners Club and that we will get some recognition from PCA at large. I have an in there that I am about to hit up to see what she thinks PCA can do for US! Probably nothing, but certainly if we don't ask we won't get any PCA support! My region here in Austin is actually a great region. I was president/VP/Concours Chair for many years. We were the fastest growing region of our size when I was Pres and we got a really nice PCA National Award for it! Super cool!
I have had great luck with the PCA but I know other 928 owners have not been so fortunate. If we can show them we are organized and can be a group that can enhance the PCA I think they will be able to do stuff to help us out with the 928 Owners Club... www.928oc.org
Hope springs eternal with me anyway!

George,
Great to have you joining up!
I'll be heading up to the cottage soon and will take a tour of Traverse City to check on meeting spots for us Sharkers.
I like the Frat house idea on Torch Lake if 993c2cab can keep the "rev limiters" at home.
Regards!

Yeah my wife and I are definitley going but we'll be there for the Fri. & Sat. before and the opening days (Sun., Mon.) of the Porsche Parade and then heading back home on Tues. Do not know what I'm driving cause I just can't get moving on the 928. My restaurant has been busier than hell (a good thing!) plus we got t-boned in my wife's 2010 Mazda Miata roadster last Sunday. Total loss, reasonably minor injuries but cracked ribs and being bitch-slapped by a side-airbag still smarts. Now I've gotta find her a new car, cart her around and still manage my business and 22 employees. Either way, I'd enjoy hooking up with the gang if any are around when I am.

Another MI owner. I was going to try to attend the event (concurs) but with work (deadline on a program at work) that Saturday was iffy. Now that I may have it off all the accommodations are gone (I think) and really no plans.
I'll still think about driving up Sunday to Tuesday though...
