Three Wheelin'
I'll be there. I got my demons exorcised last night and have been driving around all day, so far so good. If we get time I'd like to put my car up on a lift and see if I can find where the rear tires are rubbing. I can hear it but I can't find it:/

The factory tool is a real pretty piece, but at over $100 a bit spendy for an individual owner to justify, especially if there are reasonable workarounds. After seeing Rob's in action, no doubt it's easier than my DIY efforts. Fortunately the hubs only need to come off once or maybe twice in the life of a car if done correctly.
So--- I was thinking that something as simple as a threaded pipe cap might work for this duty. It would need to just fit over the OD of he bearing cap. Three or four evenly-spaced holes around the perimiter, drilled and tapped for setscrews similar to the way that factory tool is made. I'm not near my car right now or I'd get the OD of the bearing cap. Maybe somebody has that handy? Then choose the right pipe cap at H-D, a little bit with the drill press and the tap set, buy a few setscrews, and a club tool is born. Bag it up with a bearing packer, and we have a front bearing service kit ready-to-use.

FWIW, I have a small plastic mayo jar that I use with a few inches of paint thinner as a hand-held parts washer. Put in bearings and other small parts that need to be cleaned, lid screwed on securely, shake gently to get the last bits of old grease out. Keeps 'dirty' solvent from other parts cleaning projects out of the bearings completely. Continuing the theme, a half-gallon plastic coffee container does the same for bigger bits.

Good turnout. Had 7 928's (2 are Pete's), 2 911's. Replaced another 928S exhaust with Borla; tightened up x-pipe fittings and changed my front lower balljoints.
Thank you everyone who came and lent a hand. Huge thanks to Pete for opening up 2 bays and letting us play with, I mean use, all of his tools and knowledge!
Thanks for breakfast Thom!!
