Timing belt / Water pump party in SF Bay Area

In the middle of doing a TB myself for the first time. Thanks to tips from Bill
Everything seems to be going along OK. I replaced my water pump, this is what started this exercise, plus I didn't know when the TB had been last replaced.
I found that my cam gears and oil pump gears needed replacing. The old ones were aluminum, replaced with steel. I needed a gasket for for the tensioner.
My problem is that I am slow and I spend half my time cleaning.
Top tips: Don't forget to have all the correct tools laid out.
Buy all the needed parts in advance.
Drain the coolant from the block as advised
When I first installed the flywheel lock I didn't check to see if it was truly locked place
and when I turned the crank bolt it jumped a bit. Fixed the problem but I think now I could be off a tooth on the cam gear on the drivers side. I'm loosing sleep over this one. Now waiting for a new gasket from Mark, then off to the races.
Love to come down and help, but I need to get my car back on it's feet.

Send me an email about the specifics. If I can get free on Saturday, I'd like to come over.

Your Pken timing stuff will be there.
I'll be there to help point at stuff in the AM, until I have to leave at 1115-30 or so for a flight I have to make. Then back after that...late afternoon.

Hey Guys,
Unfortunately, I'm going to have to postpone this to the weekend of the 30th/31st. The cam gear coater place is closed tomorrow, so the cam gears won't be ready in time, and it's not clear whether the PorKensioner bracket will arrive in time as well. Sorry about the scheduling mixup.

I couldnt make it this weekend but I might be able to make it to next, since you've rescheduled.
Sounds like your home/garage will already be full of helpers, though!

TB/WP party continues tomorrow, Sunday March 31st. Lots of beer still left!
Luckily, the water pump bearing, although completely shot, didn't allow the impeller to contact the block. And all the WP bolts came out without stripping.
On the down side, there is now a significant puddle of ATF under my transmission (just replaced the transmission gasket and filter a few months ago). I am hoping that it was caused by the angle of the car when the driver's side was on jackstands and the passenger's side was on the ground before being jacked up. Is this possible? Could the fluid have gone out a vent port? Or is that just wishful thinking?

Sorry I could not get over to your party. Hope all is well. If you need any further help, let me know. Hold on to my Porken cam timing tool. If you are coming to Sharks in the Park, Saturday, May 4th, you can give it to me then.
