I don't like these big wheels on classic cars either. But it's your car and only wheels, take em off easily enough and switch back.

928s have a design that doesn't require a giant fancy wheel to make the car look nice. It distracts from the perfect design. Car desing has lost that, it's all about the rims.

Today's car designs rely on big shiney wheels to look good, look how corny that Panamera front fender treatment is. Ford focus has same.

928 design without the help of powerful CAD is much better w/o a doubt.

I'm going the opposite route, looking to straight trade my discs with new tires for very nice original 16" phonies off a '78, talking to them this Monday.

LOL - I had the same thought. I'm not sure what my "manhole" is worth

As for the wheels in question.....I have three sets that I will probably take to the scrap yard in spring.

So I would trade them for almost any half way decent wheel.

IMO the only good use for original 928 wheels (except phone dials or GTS 5-spokes) is bolted to the house to keep my garden hose nice an tidy.

I did not change anything. I just captured the part that was relevant to the humor I found in the thread title and the subsequent posts. If I offended, that was not the intent.

I fill my pie hole regularly

Agree completely! On a 928 these would be FUGLY !!!

https://rennlist.com/forums/10264718-post1.html

The flat slotted disc (AKA manhole or sewer grate) are plain and boring but I would not trade mine for those things.

These are neat on a cartoon car but in real life would be hideous.

I want some rubber between my hard part and the road, the ride is better and potholes are less of a threat.

What are the advantages of going bigger and what would everyone agree to be a good compromise.

I am happy to stay with 16s. I might go to 17s if I came across a good deal on something I liked.

Also, I don’t get all the fuss over phone dials; they don’t do much for me.

Cup I or II or maybe D90 is what I am looking for. Anyone have some they want to get rid of?

White Lightnin, I just realized why you were offended and why you submitted the altered quote to me.

Abso-freakin-lutely!

Gotta go, tired and about to put something in my pie hole before going to bed.
This quote unfortunately included your "Abso-freakin-lutely" and what should have been the closing line for my post "Gotta go, tired and about to put something in my pie hole before going to bed." I inadvertently quoted both comments together. My bad and if I were you I would have reacted in the same way. So sorry about that, truly not intended.

Now, I did put something in my pie hole before going to bed. I ate some almonds and drank some milk (pie-hole is an old term for "mouth"). Regarding watching **** and wanking, well, I must admit I did a little mastication while filling my pie hole. Doesn't even bother Mrs. S4ordie, she's seen me do it a zillion times. Frequently we masticate together.

Sorry for the misunderstanding. I owe you not only an apology but perhaps sometime in the future we will meet at a 928 event and we can fill our pie holes together and masticate like crazy while looking at some 928 pr0n

My trade for phone dials did not happen only due to my car's PO having my discs polished to a mirror finish. I hate that btw. Guess i'll paint them light grey..

The other car in the trade is a '79 with the phonies in silver and vin number ..0086
In great condition but has been in their shop sitting for 10 years.
No pasha, the striped fabric..5-speed. Nice car. Just sitting.
They build serious vintage Italian racing cars for a living, primarily Alfas.
That very early 928 needs a new home.
