Hello All, Yes I am new to the 928 world, I Bought my first 928 less than a year ago. I have been reading these forums and alot of the members web sites over the past 11 months. I bought my 928 at first sight, pretty much because I knew I could keep it on the road. Over the last 11 months I have learned alot to help me through the first year of my new life long project (ELLIE) Although Ellie has been a local car since '87, her records ended in '94 with a TB. Last week I had the TB and WP and all tensioner rollers replaced. So I think Ellie did good with 19 years on a TB. OH! it was bad, The mech was afraid to even try to start it after inspecting the '94 belt. All good now, plus got a 4 wheel align. Wanted to let you know you all kept another 928 on the road. Thanks!. BTW, TB, WP, Tensioners, front main seal, valve cover gaskets, cam seals, $1600.

You got one hell of a steal getting all of that done for $1600.00. Considering the labor alone for that job should run almost that much.

like a lot of other things that needed fixed when I got this car, replaced all bulbs (front and tail) except markers. fog light relay was good, but the "x" relay was bad, and the fog light switch needed cleaning, and the switch bulb replaced. (the bulbs inside the pod switches can be interchanged with the bulbs from a Passat 3rd brake light, FYI) the X relay also came from a Passat.(early '90s). replaced all bulbs with nickle base, no coppers. and a little off topic, but while on a Passat rant, the heater/ac blower motor(motor only) is almost an exact interchange, must use OEM squirrel cage, and have to splice wires to the 928 plug, but the motor itself is the same. cheap easy fix.
