Be sure to cap the barbed end when trying it for fit. If it fits and pops onto the fill connector you could get some fluid in the line to spill out.

It is a good thing I do not own an automatic, 'cause in my enthusiasm to see whether it would fit, I would almost certainly showered myself with ATF for not having remembered to do this......

It may not. It depends how far up the ball is. I bet GB can answer that.

The ball is at the very end, but unless the quick disconnect has something that actively pushes up the ball, it should not leak.

That would be cool if it fits.

Wonder if Arnoud is willing to become our "connection" to getting these, if they do?

I've been using that old hand to pump method for years and have to say it's a pain in the ***. I know about Gregs method (the Porsche way) but have yet to find a decent enough container to do what I would like. Which is pour in two gallons of ATF, hook my compressor up to it and using small pressure feeding the trans via that way.

As soon as someone can show me a reasonable set up, and when I say reasonable I mean one that does not cost $300.00, I'll jump right up. I've got the factory connections to put on there but my lazy *** hasn't gone to the effort to get a set up to use it correctly. I cuss it every time I'm pumping that damn handle though.

it should not be to hard to fab up something....

fluid needs .433 psi to lift it one foot. so you should only need a pressure pot that will hold 20- 30 psi at the most. this should more than lift the fluid and move the ball. i would think 10 psi would do the job.

a simple container with the exit pipe extending to the bottom of the container, and the other fitting just goes through the top to pressurize the container.

yardpro, when I topped mine up I had the engine running and the gear box in neutral. This sucks a lot of the fluid into the system. (obviously ensure the car doesn't roll over you!!!)

I just used a plastic filler bottle and managed to squeeze it into my 85' filler without jacking her up. So my config is probably different to yours - but the process of checking the level whilst running in neutral is probably still valid. I filled mine up to the top and then started the engine and checked - the level dropped - for some reason I then took a photo of it at the time (2010) see attached - it illustrates the amount that is sucked up when running... I then re-topped up. Fine - no leaks and smooth gear changes.

I have already purchased a pump up garden sprayer to modify the next time my trans is due for fluid/filter change. It would be sweet to have a quick coupled to use with it.

Thanks for the reminder, Mike!

Rob: just think about all the fun you are missing due to not yet owning a RogerBox...

Greg: my pleasure to become that "connection", once I've proven that these fit 100.0% correctly.
To be exact: I paid €5.49 for each at the first DIY shop I saw these, so possibly
better deals to be had still. Additionally, I will find out how much the exact correct ones as pointed out by Mike & Rob will cost.
If it all works out and there is enough interest, then I guess it is simply a question of shipping a dozen or so over to the U.S.A.
Do you happen to know the Nm torque that need to be applied to that filler plug when closing up?

Unfortunately I now have to return my attention back to my work, I'll report back here during the upcoming weekend.

I use an $8 8-litre pump-up garden sprayer for diff oil changes. I just broke off the spray attachment, and stick the end of the hose in the fill hole. Pump it up, and leave it for about 40 mins while it fills the diff.

If anyone is interested, I have this factory tool for sale. I don't know how to post a photo of it, but if you email me at wrenchit@yahoo.com I can send you a photo of this tool. I retierd from Porsche over 6 years ago and I don't think I'll be useing it any more. It retailed for $75.00. I'll make someone a smoken deal. And your right, you can't get this factory tool any more.
