Why are you running in AI or AIX and not ST2 with the Corvette's, Vipers, Lotus etc....

What is your power / weight?

My friends bone stock ZO6 (except for brakes) is an ST2 car, that sounds more like what you normally run with.

The bottomline, NASA wants to have the AV8SS in their weekend, and it was just a matter of finding out how to do that. turns out, most cars are able to run under AI, (even the ones that are really AIX) but then to keep their class pure and to the rules, my car (porsche V8 and the viper, which is a AV8SS exception to get car count up) had to run in Super Unlimited . I thought it was ST2, for which i signed up for. actually, my HP to weight is 8:1 and it fits squarely in ST2, where the top T1 cars would find themselves from what im told.
there are other adders for ST2, like tire width and other factors that add or subtract from the 8:1 limit for ST2 HP/weight. in SU, there is no limit, so ill probably just run that, just to get the car out there. in the end, we are separate anyway, i think with our own split start.

mini race report.

NASA is a blast. 60+ cars in the group, it felt like a lemons race! ended up battling with a bunch of mustangs and even beat a tube frame camaro transam like car the first race after his tires went away toward the end of the race. lots of fun dicing with the BMWs as well.
Finallly did a tire comparison, after two days of running expected and predicted times, i put on a decent set of used Hoosiers R100s. (a coupound like the A6) and ran near 1.5 seconds faster. which might be more like 2 seconds due to race times being about.5 to 1 second slower almost always for me and many others.
1:47.0 was my best in the race on sunda.. 6th overall , and 2rd in class. Av8SS
race 1 was 70 cars!! yes, 70 cars at Sears Point!! i got 5th over all in that race.
Video looks pretty good too, used new camera. once i figure out how to get the video off the chip, ill put it on Youtube.
some pretty cool cars out there and of course, a ton of street cars, DE , TT, etc. pretty good event actually.

I had to shake my official finger at Mark for doing this up the nose of the Safety Crew...cuz they were "wtf..who did that!"

But Mark did no wrong..the safety crew was down the dragstrip a bit, and there were no flags..but it gave me a chance to go say hi.

you use 2nd gear quite a bit......I rarely do....but my overall gears are a bit lower than your with the 2.75 vs 2.20.....

Speed in gears G28-03 275/35-18
6000
1st: 44
2nd: 66 (74mph in 2.20)
3rd: 93 (104mph)
4th: 122 (135mph)
5th: 166 (185mph)

you still need to use 2nd, as it would optimize your exits.

my speeds in gears are:
55
80
118
154mph at redline , NOT 6000. why shift at 6000? leaving HP on the table! good news, you can go even faster. when i put the stroker in , i thought i could short shift and use taller gears. i was slower than the old engine! when i drove it like it should be driven, it gained 1 to 1.5 seconds redlining in most all shifts. you can see i even have a few reve limiter hits turn 10 to 11, and exits of 7.
also have a pic of the oil pressure down the carrocel at 5krpm pegged at 5bar!

I shift at 6k since I make peak power at 5640 and fall past that....plus it is my personal "928 engine life" equation that seems to be working....

Speaking of that had an interesting conversation today at the Lemons race at Sears Point....a good team that runs a 944 and I talked........VERY interesting.....I asked him where he shifts....he said 6000 since anything higher blows engines.....I asked him what oil controls he has.....spec944 oil baffles....I asked him how often he changes rod bearings.....answer "every year"
