I heard the term "factory rolled fenders" used on this board a few times. Was this only done when the car was optioned a certain way? What years? Thanks.

The GTs have factory "cringed" fenders, which means that the flange on the top of the fender is flattened - '89 thru '91 in the US, IIRC.

Spock,
I certainly can, I'll PM my email and your son can contact me, we have a small group of six of us who have 928's here. We can offer advice and a trusted 928 mechanic.
The great thing out here is that you will see more bugatti veyron's on the road than 928's. Everyone wants the latest and greatest which means you can pick up older cars for a pittance (if you can find them).
Passed a nice Aston Martin One 77 on the way home tonight! one more than any 928 I have passed in 3 years on my commute.

From WKD 405 021, giving the tech info on the changes for the 1989 928 GT:
"Folds have been cringed in the fenders at the wheel openings in order to guarantee clearance of the wheels."
No idea whether this is a German term, a misprint, or a mistranslation. That is why I put it in quotes...
