I previously had the following problems.
High winding noise in 2nd gear selector
Would not upshift out of second
I replace the kickdown solenoid and housing
Changed fluid and filter
Took apart valve body and cleaned it (possibly installed some springsin wrong places)
Then i tries driving it. The jowling noises went away when the selwctor was in second. But still no upshift. So i took out the kickdown relay and disconnected bowden cable. It will shift out of second now. I am confident the modulator is not at the right pressure. But whats wro.g with the bowden cable and relay. I hope disconnecting the cable will work for now i am at the carwash i hate it when my car is dirty

Please do it.
The weakest area of our community is transmission knowledge.
Those few that know don't share.
What you do to troubleshoot is going to help the rest of us.

HA!
You do know them!
What we are missing is a Dwayne-style write up on a complete refresh of the automatic.
Rob could snap the pictures.
You'd sell more parts than you'd ever rebuild in transmissions.

And then, if the part could be bought for $.25 cheaper from someone else, I'd proovide all the knowledge for no return. Part of the big problem, today, is that people will spend 3 hours (usually while at work), looking at every site they can find on the Internet, to save a couple of bucks.

If I pull out the governor will fluid flow out of the transmission uncontrollably? I could pull it out tonight and upload a picture of it and you guys could tell me if it looks broken.

I do not consider them to be simple.
Thinking about what a non-professional could do to one of these things, is pretty scary.

thinking about it, the guy i took to diagnose my transmission, he was easy to say i needed a rebuilt one, and it was stuck in 2nd not 1st. it was flaring in 2nd until i disconnected the bowden cable and remove the kickdown relay "now reverse does not work , no flaring, but atleast it will go past 40mph without 6,000 rpm.
