I have had a few 85/86 cars with lots of options but did not show on the VIN sticker

In many years and Locales, things like sunroof and leather were standard, so like leather seats and door inserts were 'standard', they would not show on the sticker, but a leather dash would. On my car, Alarm was standard that year, and doesn't show on the sticker, whereas in earlier years, the alarm was an option.

LOL. I was putting the winter tires on my Jetta (Golf) Sportwagen today, and noticed a duplicate option code sticker in the wheel well, and thought "that's odd"....and then came in and stumbled upon this thread. I guess the VW dealers can be lazy too!
