UPDATE: It Runs!
And it runs pretty well. Idles nice, and runs smooth. Transmission shifts well also. Brake pedal went spongy right to the floor with little or no stopping power so I couldnt really put the gas to the motor. It does run quite well though.
turns out injector relay is bad. Jumping it allowed the car to start right up nicely.
I definitely want to thank all the guys who helped me. I know I can be an over posting PIA, but I am not an ungrateful one.
James, and those who gave me some good input... much thanks.
Now I just have to figure out what is up with the brakes. Apparently when I hit the pedal I left a small puddle on the driveway both times.. I must have a broken brake line or something.

Congratulations! The $16 worth of gas the PO stiffed you for will likely be the cheapest lesson you learn about 928 PO's, but no matter. Lots of good advice on brake line repair in the archives and available in almost real-time, just by asking here. Let us know what you find RE: leaking brake lines.
congrats on getting the car running.
JBs mantra of relay, relay, relay still holds true
for the brakes now would be the time to install new stainless brake lines to all of the calipers ,
and most likely you will need a new master cylinder,
I suggest to use the Super Blue racing fluid,
Roger sells it as well as the lines and the MC

Here are a few pics of the ugly beast. It will be pretty one day soon.

Like I have posted before, the seats have all been redone ans look good. I have all the interior pieces, but the door panels need a little work.

The guy I got it from took off the tail lights and bondoed all of the bumper lines to make the car look like one piece. He then filled the tail light sunken areas and put some really ugly tail lights in. I am not sure why he did that... or it may have been the owner before him. Either way, I started chipping out the filler and will be removing that ugly lights soon. I need to acquire some cheap ( Porsche and cheap = oxymoron) tail lights.

With a little research first, you could have eliminated a lot of extra costs to get this back to a standard 928. Seems to me you need to buy another 80 parts car to supply this one. Or vice versa.
That is just a travesty. It looks like he did the same for the front by filling in the gaps. There should be a bead between the nose and the front fenders. With both being made of different materials and having different properties, how soon will that filled joint separate?

incidentally, here is the travesty pics:

why anyone would do this I do not know:
a few more interior pics. I have some work to do for sure. Seats look good though and super comfortable. Most comfort I have experienced in any Porsche I have owned.

console needs to have HVA controller reinstalled. That should be fun.. vac hoses are there, but no clue which goes where:
