I am old so mine has worn down a lot with use - can't speak for Mark 8>)

I have ordered penty of 928 bits that are hard to come by from so called Parts Suppliers on eBay only to have my money refunded when they find they don't exist in stock.

I've got a new in the box Behr I bought a couple years ago that a guy had stored in shed by his house for a decade or so and never used, sold the car and didn't remember he had the radiator. I wonder if its deteriorated? Box was really shelf worn, but looked fine last I saw it and put it on a new shelf to wait until needed.

I support our vendors all the time. I'd rather buy from someone I trust like our vendors. If I remember, cause I didn't go to his site. Mark has a radiator on his web site that sells for 2 grand, which I thought was the radiator for my 89 S4. Thats why I went the Behr web site, and bought from them. I also figured Roger would be in the same ballpark price wise.

Hind sight being 20/20, I should have made a phone call. But hell, it's only money. At least thats what I told Dee, when I blew the 572 blower motor in the Pantera. And that was a $62,000.00 nightmare!

So Mark, you're saying the all alu radiator/ alu side tanks etc, you used to sell will only last a few years?
--------------------------
Mercedes Cl radiator, dealer $3300, special price to you $1900, ebay from Germany Hella, $450 = $530 delivered.

Not saying the all aluminum are better, but the one in my 928 appears to have been in place for more than 10 years, and is still holding strong.

But wouldn't the failure of the welds on the all aluminum ones depend solely on heat cycles? Which would therefore depend on how much you drive it and driving habits.

I got the new radiator in today. Took a little modification of the new radiator to make it fit. There are little tabs you can see in the photo that apparently hold something like the fans to the radiator in perhaps another application. My car doesn't have a protrusion that can slide in these tabs nor a slot in the fan housing to lock onto. I had to cut them off and drill holes in the fan housing to get the radiator and fan to mate together flush

Still pretty clean from the rebuild last summer.

Got it all buttoned up and running perfectly. Temps sit right in the spot they are supposed to (finally!) Now I believe I am ready for the supercharger project.

Little blurry on the temp shot but was leaning in the window in the dark. Sorry.

Took about 1hr to 1hr:15min start to finish. Trans didn't need a fill, was perfect when I put the new radiator in and ran it. Must have been a bit full before from when I took radiator out this summer to have it unsuccessfully repaired.

Bottom tabs are for the early cars with a lower fan shroud. Like you did, just cut them off.
