This car is gorgeous. Seats appear to have been recovered but they look good. But when I compared it to the registry, the registry has it listed as having 121k miles and the dealership is showing 85k. Any thoughts?

interesting. There are some significant differences in these pics. For instance, the front seats appear to have been recovered, and not a great job at that. Also, look acarefully at the pod in the early pic, then at the later pics further down. Not sure they were taken at the same time. The lower pics look amost like there is a pod cap on it.

I like this car and if it was an 89, I would probably be tempted, but I did contact the seller to inquire:
Vehicle Information:
Year: 1988
Make: Porsche
Model: 928 S-4
Inventory #: 861721
VIN: WP0JB0929JS861721
Customer Comment/Question: I think the mileage may be wrong on this car. I am interested, but I think it is off over 40K and probably higher than that of the 2005 report is correct. http://928registry.org/1988-928/1988-928S4-1721.htm

The odo was replaced by a Porsche dealer
From Emerald:
Ahhh. How many miles are actually on it? It looks great!

I calculate 150 but the car does not show that type of mileage. We have serviced this car for last 10 years and the previous owner was very aggressive about servicing the vehicle.
----
My problem with this one is the 121K was shown in 2005. 30K over the next 7 years seems unlikely, but these babies do sit. Great color scheme and I think a car fax is a must on this one. I will be interested to see if he updates the auction with 150K vs the 85K they show now... It is something about selling a car that brings the liar out in everyone...

Looks very nice.
Of course needs a quality PPI.
Runs a little warm and the voltage output a little low for a daytime pic.
Wish they had the airbox clipped down correctly - pictures do speak a thousand words...

A gorgeous color indeed...
(PS: It's really "green," not blue, though it does indeed appear blue in certain light)
Same car was for sale here last year for $9,800 (or less). Odometer discrepancy is explained in the ad. https://rennlist.com/forums/928-foru...4-5-speed.html

I'll miss the GT forever and will probably always be hunting 928s. I'd love to get back into one someday, but probably one for significantly less than what I had, and probably later than sooner. The Jalapeno would have been a candidate!!!
This is what I expected. I just think they are misleading the buyers. It looks to be a well maintained version, with an awesome color and option combo, but they have people bidding 85k mile money on a 150k mile car. I'd be comfortable with an excellently maintained 928 with 150k, I'd just want to know the truth upfront (like when Sam offered it here). Looks like a good car for ~$9800 from a Rennlister. Bids are already at $9900 with over 7 days left. High bidder is in for a rude awakening.
