Default The "6,000 mile" 1986 928S wins BASF corporate award at Euro Autofest

It was a beautiful fall day at the BMW plant in Spartanburg, SC for the 2012 Euro Autofest. The 6,000 mile 1986 928S received a corporate award from BASF.

Here's the commentary from the BASF rep:

You won the Corporate Award from BASF. Dan from BASF commented on how your 928 reminded him of a new one he drove years ago when a Mustang challenged him at a traffic light. He said the Mustang did not stand a chance. He also told the group how he appreciated how clean and original your car is - especially considering how difficult black can be to maintain, the fit and finish of your 928 and how it represented what he was looking for in a vehicle. When he finished, I mentioned that you had another commitment and could not be present at the awards banquet.

We will be sending your award, the BASF sponson's trophy, by mail. Congratulations on a great car from the Board of EURO Auto Festival. We hope to see you at next year's event.

John

Super. Who owns that now and where? The Philly 6K 928 was to me the best "barn find" car we have had. The year, the colors, the 80's brought back to life. One of a kind.

I attended the Euro Festival twice when I lived in Greer, great show with all kinds of cars.

PICS?

Don't be stingy with the digital pics, Skipp. Some nice location shots would do fine and how does it feel to drive it, solid? no squeaks no rattles?

Very solid. No squeaks. Like a new car. I had it up to 130 mph Saturday and it was totally stable.

The 928 sure does shine up pretty, almost unfair to the other cars.

Great win!

That beautiful car came awfully close to a different ending, considering the company it kept on its trajectory to you.

What, Fuzzy Dice Autos didn't make anyone else comfortable enough to make a sight unseen purchase with no ppi?
