Yep custom order... Love the two tone. And, yes most cars dont have two tone interiors anymore - too expensive. We had two Black & Champagne all leather interiors at Frenzy - mine is one of them. TRY to keep it clean and enjoy!!!

A bit late to this party, but in case anyone is wondering, code 72 does indeed refer to "Pearl White / [Dark] Blue."

That chart is for MY '84. However I doubt Porsche ever changed the codes for different years, would be way too confusing for suppliers and assembly.

The "pearl" is a bit of a reach. When new they may have had a very slight pearlessence?

Sort of like my former 87 two tone. I like the pearl interior.

Question here? Are you saying all 86's (or 86.5's like mine) do not come with the leather dash (ie. the stitched seam just below the defroster vents? Just wondering, as I had assumed they all did until the seemingly cheaper S4 dash pad. Thank you.

I guess I'm asking if this pictured dash is the same dash all 86's come with?

No, leather dashes were never standard. Many have been replaced because of shrinking material, and some were replaced with vinyl dashes (while console and arm rests remained leather).

Wow. Thank you. Another reason to believe I may have one of of the best survivors out there, my dash is perfect, no cracks and not pulled away at the vents at all. Plus my "paint to sample" exterior color. Another question comes then. If this had to be ordered, why does it not show up in my option list on my tag? Or, is it just a standard part of the code "76" interior?

Thanks, I like it. There are so many Porsche 928s where uncommon factory options are unobtanium, the value is there, just a question of how long it takes for the market to rise, and whether that is your ultimate goal for the thing.

Dash and some other interior parts were available in around half dozen different colors for each model year. Whenever buyer asked for any other color, be it standard leather color for that MY or something special, it meant factory did full leather dash. That was easiest way for them to do it. Though not saying this is the case in here since I don't know if blue in picture was or wasn't one of the normal vinyl dash colors.
