Default How to lose 95lbs from your race 928!!!

Well I put Casper on a diet on Thursday......bumpers, bumper shocks, pod, battery and a few other little things we didn't "need"

added up..............................95lbs.................... so my 2719lbs racer is now 2624......or somewhere around there.....

Here are the pics

Bumpers are poor things to skip on.

its a simple ?? can a race car be too light? Umm not really, unless the "diet" makes it "weak" which we didn't do....

Lets say a race car that weighs 3000lbs can corner at 1.5g or 4500lbs....my 2625lb car can pull 1.7g for the same amount of "force"....doesn't sound like much but it translates into a much faster car!!!!

While the "inner" bumpers are gone...the rest is still there....standard practice for race 928's

I understand the reasoning but I believe the purpose of the bumpers was to minimize or eliminate low speed damage. I'm not sure they do much at race speeds

You didn't need the battery? Planning on using one of these?

A lot of the touching is low speed bumping..not talking crashes.

5-10mph differential bumpin'

Brian
Install a piece of DOM tube in place of the bumpers. It will help in a crash.

Eat right and exercise.

There's "race speed" into solid objects and then there are "pit speeds" into solid objects. Also, there's low relative speed bumps. Of course, none of that happens in "gentlemen's" racing.

What's the lightest cage material? Assuming it's legal.

Don't that stuff out! I could use the batt door and pod.
