I got a phone call back from Thomas Maska about three hours after my general phone enquiry this morning, just after I posted here. I was driving at the time and so said I would need to call back. I have the cell phone number if you need it Errka ... or if John needs it ... or I'm more than happy to call and ask for an explanation and some action.

As we now know he is contactable, it would be the time to try emailing or ringing him again .... if he doesn't get back to you then we can go to plan B.

As Hilton noted .. let's hope this communication problem is temporary and the order gets sorted.

Help if I can, I live in Melb, but can't drive due to shoulder surgery.
VCAT is the small claims mediation court, each party states their case in front of a lawyer, doesn't cost much, the outcome is a binding agreement.
I have some lawyer friends that may be able to help, or there is always Mike Gatto !
(google him)

Hopefully he is indisposed, maybe some family issue, that he needs to sort. Sometimes customer service is pretty poor here....

Thank you everyone for ideas and offers for help.

Back in early July I emailed with Thomas Faska. Price was agreed, I got invoice, Niklas send payment to their bank account at same day and I emailed PDF which shows payment details. After that email I haven't been able to get any response at all. There is mobile number in that invoice. No answer when I tried to call few times. Also send txt message to it without any response. Calls have been mainly in afternoon Australian time due to time difference. Only thing I haven't tried is sending a fax. Maybe there is communication issues but I have tried so many different ways something should have gone through. Money has definitelly gone somewhere.

What to do next? If someone local who can actually get them to answer wants to ask whats going on I can email messages and PDFs which shows what was agreed and payment info.

I'm in my office now (7.30AM Australian ES time) and will call him on his mobile in a couple of hours (approx 9.30 to 10.00 AEST), after I've finished some urgent work. I'll post back here with the outcome.

Here in the states there is always the BBB (better business bureau) to contact. I used them once for an outfit that bilked us out of $2000. They don't have any enforcement power but sometimes a call to them will make the buggers jump. Might be worth a try if such an outfit exists in Australia.

Errka ... I have just finished talking to Thomas Faska and he tells me that the forgings were delayed but that the rods are in the final stages of production now. He also told me that he has no record of emails from you after one on the 5th of July, but has three emails sent to you without reply, and that he has been having problems with his mail server. He confirms the order number that you PM'd me, and he confirms receipt of funds.

I told him that you and Niklas were friends of mine, and that you were very concerned that you had received no response from him to your many email, phone calls or texts.

I gave him the two email addresses that I have for you and he said he would immediately email you.

None of this explains why he didn't respond to phone voice messages or texts, but he now knows that a local is on the case, and that immediate action and communication is expected.

I believe I have firmly and politely implanted the expectation that things need to start happening.

I have a transcript of the phone call ...

I will prod him if necessary. Let me know if I need to breathe fire.

How about a work day frenzy, and a NOISY BBQ outside his premises to get his attention?

Thank you Dave. We owe you big time. Now his email came through magically three hours after your call. First one since 4th of July.

You're welcome Errka. You are generous with your time and expertise here and I'm glad I could help.

GREAT SERVICE to a fellow enthusiast.

Erkka - hope this works out well in the end.

This community is AWESOME - in my humble opinion.
