Default What are these things under the passenger's side of the dash?

I was getting an intermittent ABS light, so I went under the dash on the passenger's side to check connections. Fixed the ABS issue, and reconnected the glove box light and the vacuum line to the computer while I was down there, but couldn't find where the connector in the first couple pics should go. Also found the black box (bulb controlling device) in the third pic just sitting on the floor behind the rat's nest. So...

1) What does that connector go to (and where)?
2) Where does the black box bolt on?

Thanks in advance,
Matt

I'm not clear on that connector, but the Lampkontroller, or bulb control box bolts on the side of the passenger footwell shelf.

Hey Craig:

What does that box do? I took German in college but never did very good with it.

Barney,
It says Lampenkontrollgerät. Lamp controller. This is the brain that tells us tail lights, side markers are out.

its an unused connector,

Not exactly sure what it was used for possibly a trigger wire for the passenger ejection seat.

place it out of the way

Looking at the passenger parcel tray you will find an area on far right side of the tray (as sitting the seat }where the lamp controller bolts to the tray

IIRC, the single terminal is +12V for rear A/C controls.

Ejector seat would explain why the things in the back are called "emergency seats".
No rear A/C in this car so I'll just strap that one down a little better.
Thanks for the ID and position info on the controller - time to go find some bolts.
