I'll take the weight shift towards the rear. Bigger rotors and calipers will actually be utilized. As far as tranny strength, mic a 928 gearset width and the Vette gearset width The t56 shifts like clockwork too, can't wait till Dinsdale has mine on the lift. And yes the Tranzilla is the end all for vette boxes, but the Viper boxes are wider gearsets from factory as well if you can get ahold of one.

what are you begging to differ about? my point was that the 2.2 acts like an overdrive ini 5th gear, and the 2.75 box has the same spread between the gears through 5th. yes, all 5th gears are 1.1 , but then X the final drive ratio gives you 2.75, and the S4, 2.2:1

Yeah, but it's not the "double" overdrive of the six speed. Which is how it acts. Plus the strength is a big difference. The T56 and T6060 is superior. Period.

Default Not vaporware !

Roger, Hans & myself drove the new 6spd conversion today at 3rd Coast. Same reaction from all: Awesome! 6th gear: 70mph:1475rpm, 90 mph: 2,000rpm. Stay tuned. T

So I have a question.
Since you have a good strong range selection with this trans,
what will your top end be (within 3-4 miles) with a 350-400 BHP car (when would it power out)

Keeping the above in mind,
brings me to question why Carls car (928ms), needs 900+ HP to go 200+ mph

or is it the 5 mile limit that makes Carl want to get up there faster, and the salt that robs the HP.
If that is the case, I would just search out and rent a 5 mile test track and set the record on pavement with less HP
(pay me now or pay me later)

sorry for the long questions

Brad

Howdy Boy's. Just arrived home after 3rd coast. 500 miles and the trans performed perfectly. averaged 23.4 mpg for the trip. The Race clutch sucks in traffic but is a blast on the Hill country roads ! We'll have to make something a little softer. 1475 rpm at 70 mph Rocks. You can bang through the fist four gears like an old muncie , and then loaf along at modern TEXAS highway speeds. 85 mph! Wahooo!!!!!!!!!!!!

1475 at 70 , about 2k at 90, as far as top speed, too fast for me! Ya'll can do the rest of the math . trans is a 2002 vette w/ 3.43 diff.
As far as a kit goes, were workin on that. Hang on a little bit. It'll be worth the wait.
Regards dinsdale

Okay a little math....using standard C5 Z06 3.42 gear ratios with a 25" tire I get this speed in gears at 6000rpm

C5 Z06 G28-03
1st 44mph 44mph
2nd 63mph 66mph
3rd 91mph 93mph
4th 130mph 122mph
5th 155mph 166mph
6th 233mph ----

So 1st-2nd-3rd is nearly identical.....4th (1-1 actually) is just slightly taller..... but the vette 4-5 shift if VERY CLOSE.......then a huge drop for overdrive 6th

What a smooth gearbox and so easy compared to the **** 928 manual gearbox.
Now that is what I want in a 928 - would be even better than the rogerbox.
Nice work Dinsdale - you are a master.

Shame about the clutch but I know you will fix that.

Who said it could not be done? 8>)
