I sometimes think my '67 GTO tripower/muncie/cammed/rally Is, was the zenith of car experience. Ultramarine over parchment. Of course, that isn't the case as I was still in high school/college, and it did not benefit from the great p/o care that the 65 has had....

OK Brian,

Your gas analyzer showed up this morning

When you asked if we had one, I put the word out to a bunch of friends. One of them dropped this at my office this morning ! He saw it at a swap meet and grabbed it for me.

That thing is great! Looks like a 2 gas analyzer - CO and HC. I went ahead and ordered a Gunson Gastester ($150), a digital CO sniffer for the tailpipe (waiting for it to arrive). Since my car has no O2 sensor provisions (otherwise I would try a wide-band A/F meter), this should let me dial in the CO to get close to stoic 14.7 A/F. I think a CO reading of ~ .5% translates to ~ 14.7 A/F. I know this won't be as accurate as an upstream A/F reading, but should get me close

What has led me down this path is what I suspect was a lean running condition - a bit of a miss at idle and low RPMS (under 2k). I have a newly rebuilt MAF, cleaned injectors, all new ignition components. I richened it via the MAF POT to the point that I no longer have the miss, but now want to check and adjust to spec. I will be chacking fuel pressure as well.

Anyway, nice score. Let me know how it works.

Yep

To include minibike racing.....I'm scooping every one that pops up on c-list. The Saturday barn-drinking-club memebers will be reliving our youth....30 mile per hour and 2" from the ground.

Got 3 so far !
