Sorry about not posting this earlier. I got distracted by some wind and water for a few days.

I need to try the high resolution setting for the cellphone.
640x480 just seems so antiquated these days.

Thanks, Brian.
I escaped any power outage.
Car was probably 20' or more above the highwater mark on the FDR canal.

I'm hoping Mike Frye got through OK.
He came in the 86.5 champagne 928 in the back row with black wheels.

Great job, Ernest, enjoyed the video adn great to see you again and hear that things were fine in your neck of the woods.

I PM'd Mike F. yesterday and also hoping he suffered nothing serious in Jersey, but gather he probably is too busy for Rennlsit, at best.

Thanks for the kind words and for throwing the party!

The trip to Philadelphia Saturday afternoon turned out to be a bit of a mistake, as some of you may have guessed...

In any case, I've been shuffling my notes from two years ago and trying to make sense of the things that I did and wrote then. In the process, I came across this: https://picasaweb.google.com/lh/phot...eat=directlink

On the one hand, we had all sorts of correction factors in that dyno software to try to compensate for variation in conditions during the day and the rear axle hp number is only in the ball park and certainly not eligible for any dyno queen pissing contests. On the other hand, that's not the max power run I've done, that was only at 17 psi. I've done over 20 psi at 6000 rpm on that dyno without the new MAF boot popping off and that gave somewhat more power even with less spark advance possible.

I also loaded the "new" (in quotes, as I got them from JDS in 2010), extended range bins today. I got the car to run with them, so that's a positive. My current tune is ****ty, but safe. By ****ty I mean probably rich, no deceleration fuel cutoff, run in no cat mode, without O2 adaptation, a bit of hunt at idle, etc. By safe I mean it doesn't knock at low boost setting (my eboost2 "valet parking" program 1 with below 10 psi before 5500 rpm and above 10 psi after). I am walking before running!

With the the new ST2 bins, EZK load signal doesn't peg out anymore, and has roughly the same range as the LH MAF signal, as it should. Since I was on public roads, I couldn't get the new EZK load signal above 70% at higher RPM. Even that was pushing it as the traction isn't great below 100 mph.

These bins still don't have the EZK and LH grid points aligned, so the dyno days will still be a bit inefficient as the entire set of 2x256 map points need to be optimized as a system.

5Mpixel Samsung Focus cellphone.
Got no stabilization. This was standard definition mode.
It's got a 720p video setting. Maybe I should have shot it in 720p.

This is the same video again.
I forgot that the Youtube 'shake remover' takes out part of the frame to compensate. This vid is without Youtube enhancement.

I need to make me a phone stabilizer rig or just learn to walk smoother.
Go-Go Gadget Legs.

Something I've always pondered. Just how did the factory roll the fender lips on their later cars.

Rear fender of that red GT everyone was drooling over.

And the front fender.

It's nice to have a lift and not have to lie down on the ground trying to take a picture of a fender lip.
For the 928 nerds.

Holy crap a GTO (I'm assuming it wasn't a '65 LeMans...or is it '64..) and ____ this time?

How things have progressed!

I regret missing it, have fond memories of that garage!

Yes, its a GTO. Some of my local car buddies like to come and see the 928's so I ask them to bring something interesting for us to look at. The GTO guy lives a half mile away and we had never met until he saw the tech session coverage in his Hemmings Motor News. He was quite impressed with my 15mins of fame . His car is family heirloom and I beleive it is all original and unrestored.
