I have not had to adjust the mirrors on the GTS for over a year now. Purchased the new manual type from Roger for the 80 and saved a few $$. Used ones get scooped up real fast. T

Hard to imagine where used 928 Aero mirrors would come from......

It's worth a try.

Regards the manuals. How much do they cost? I don't want to spend 700 dollars for a set.

Drop Roger an e-mail. IIRC, they are in the $ 600+ range. T

There was a set from a 993 with shipping 350 $ on ebay last week. But you have to buy the 928 base to make them work about 30 $ each I think. You just have to be patient until a good used set not ridiculously priced shows up.

I don't care about the aero set being electric. Back in the day my RS America did not have electric mirrors if i recall. It was a pretty simple car. Heck my turbo seats i installed last year does not have any switches or the motors. After the seat is set for ME it does not matter anymore. My wife almost never drives my car. Last time she drove it she complained about the seats being way to snug. LOL

I know i can find a set for less than 450, of course it might have been from a wreck 993.

77Tony, Your car looks AWESOME!

993, 964, 968 come with the aero mirrors. If you can find a set of 968 ones they are a direct bolt on.

A 968 Aero mirror housing is 965 731 243 00. The part number for a 968 Aero mirror base is 944 731 241 (or 242) 00 and its gasket is 944 731 247/8 00.

A 928 Aero mirror housing has the same part # as the 968, but the mirror base is 928 731 241 00 and the gasket is 928 731 247 00.

So I guess it's true that 928's and 968's share the same housing, but I suspect you'd be disappointed if you tried to install a complete 'take-off' set of 968 mirrors on a 928. Unless the bases are close enough and it doesn't matter, but that's not at all certain.

Unless Ali has direct experience with doing such a retrofit?

No experience Rob, someone told me the 968 aero mirrors are direct bolt on, no need for 928 bases. I guess bad information keeps passing around like this without having actually experienced it.... Thanks for the correction. Sorry jpc.

From Roger:

"Spent most of yesterday putting together some aero mirror kits.
Currently the 928 aero mirror kit sells from us for $598. Includes everything but the mirrors.
Go figure they supply an aero mirror kit with no mirrors.
The mirrors add another $180 to the price. So slightly less than $800.

I have put together a manual set for about $600 if any one is interested. All Porsche parts.

I am working on the set of 968 mirrors which are electric and I sell for $511 and they need the two 928 bases and gaskets. They still come complete with the mirrors. That adds about $100 but $200 cheaper than the 928 set.

I think Porsche will go the same way on all sets soon so grab them while you can. "

what color is the set for $511.

I thought ebay sold cheap aero mirror kits but i can't seem to find them?

I know better bodies has a aero kit only for 911's which includes the mirrors base and mirror housing all for $279.

I would guess they sell replacement lens for less than 100 bucks considering the entire set is less than $300 bucks. I wish BB made kits for other Porsche, but they don't seem to have interest in any other car than a 911 or new Porsches.

I do have some interest.

update, i found a set of mirrors for 325 shipped to my house. I'll need to get the bases but i believe this is a fair price.
