If they are from 968 they fit direct...
You don't have to buy bases...

I did the same to my 928,$400 shipped+$150 to paint...

Are the base part numbers different like what Rob has mentioned? I know someone told me 968 is a direct bolt on but is the base ever so slightly different than the ones on the 928.

Base footprint is slightly different but nothing a little wet-sanding and polish won't cure. G

FWIW ... on page 32 of the Eckler's Automotion Fall 2012 Supplemental Catalog is a "Genuine Porsche Aero Mirror Kit" Part number is 928.731.901.00 for 1987-1991, 928 for $619.99 pr. Automotion used to give PCA members a 10% discount. I don't know if Eckler's continued the PCA discount after purchasing Automotion. Phone number is 888.787.3626 or web www.automotion.com

Usually the genuine kit for a 928 does not come with the mirror lenses. You have to spend around $200 extra on top of the $619.9999999
