Default Decided to use a vacuum pump

I decided to get a vacuum pump kit and so now I have more questions.
Where do you plum the fuel tank vapour line that normally went to the oil filler neck Y hose. ???

It sure would be nice if I could find a drawing or pictures of what is the correct way to plum these lines on an S4 when using a Vacuum pump or if going passive.
I have not found a lot of documentation on this yet.
Does everyone just do there own thing?

Thanks for any details you have.

Put it on top of the MAF where it belongs.

Default Air Straightener

Don't remember where I bought it online, but make sure you get the correct internal diameter of your MAF so you can order the proper size. You want to install it before the sensor assy. in the MAF so as the air gets into the MAF it is straightened before going thru the sensor.

Default Air Straightener

You want to install it inside the MAF on the top side. The air is going into the MAF and has to make a 90 degree turn. That is why the straightener needs to be in the MAF before the sensor. Just inside the entrance part of the MAF, in the MAF itself.

If you are getting erratic MAF readings you might try smoothing the signal, digitally.

(If you can't figure out how to patch your BIN with TunerPro, send it to me.)

Ken: That's brilliant stuff, but this is actual erratic airflow, I'm not sure that the patch 'fixes' anything as simple as erratic numbers caused by sloppy lazy Bosch engineer maths.

I was asking Jeff where he put his as he has a Rotrex setup, I think these guys are all talking about something along the lines of the pic I have included.

I'm well aware of the screen inside the MAF itself but this is in addition to that. This would go in the charge pipe after the SC before the MAF.

Thx yo. I ain't saying you shouldn't use the straightener as well.

The small patch averages out the actual input signal somewhat.

The full-on patch 'chases' the MAF input -kind of like a fluid damper on the signal- with different rates for richer (faster) or leaner (slower). It does a great job of taking the spikes out of the injector duty.

Awesome..thanks for the clarification.

Is this in the S300 S3 chips too?

No. I didn't have the same injector duty spikes with the S3 as I did with the S4. Maybe because the airbox bottom is better, or maybe because the early LH has a slower CPU? Dunno. At that point I didn't have a manual S3 to test on anymore and I didn't want to break the S3 chips.

IIRC the patch might richen up your maps a touch (just increase the injector size setting a bit).

Might be a good time for me to ask..do you have S4 chips with a Supermaf?
