Meh, every system can be improved and all it takes is time and money. ptuomov is correct in a lot of what he says and I know him to be pretty damn smart when it comes to doing things with these cars, just look at that terror he has running on the streets. Some of us dream to have that sort of power at the wheels and the engineering knowledge to make it happen. I know I sure don't.

I do know that Victor and I spent many hours on the phone, and in person, talking about ways to improve this SC set up, some seem so simple until you get in to it and realize "damn, that is going to cost a lot". Something things are as simple as redirecting a tube on the intake. I have a bad habit of not leaving anything alone and that is why I keep changing stuff on mine. Running a different BOV, changed out the MAF boot portion and various other things. I do have to say that Victor is a pretty class act each and every time I've had interaction with him.

Wow. Took me almost three days to go through this whole thread with just a shred of understanding what the details actually mean. I am pending the installation of my motor in the coming weeks. Want to get it running really nice, then Victor offered to install SpeedToys old unit for me if I drive out to Michigan. I am just waiting the last few parts for the install and for the weather to get just a little bit warmer. Road Trip!

Victor's a Great guy! Be sure to take lots of pics of the installation in progress for the rest of us to live vicariously through.

Your supercharger has been sitting on my desk for 2 months now... There are lots of 928 events I want to go to on the weekends this summer, so lets try to start planning a day for you to come over.

Incentive to get it done soon. Travelling for the next couple of weeks, but should have the engine in within the next few weeks. I will work around your schedule for sure.

I have not graphed the 70mm though... I have a feeling it may be more, as Jeff was getting some serious boost to his intercooler and MAF boot with his 70mm pulley and things kept coming apart. He even broke a weld on a clamp.
Victor, has this SC ever been installed successfully on an '85 S? Any power numbers?

Thanks,

Sorry Scott, but no it will not fit the 85/86 cars. The intake manifold and bowden assembly are in the way. the bowden can be moved, but the intake is just in the way too much. So no nothing for the 85/86 at the moment.

Thanks Victor. I'd noticed Tod's build did away with the stock intake manifold completely, thought you might have gotten around to something like that.

You wouldn't happen to know of anyone whose doing an SC using a custom intake would you?

Murf has one that works on your car and I think Carl too. I have been working on a component plastic intake with an aluminium mount. It should work for all cars 85 to 95, but we'll be lucky to see it by the end of summer. If it all works out, then I might be able to help, but it's a ways out

Please keep us up to date on progress then. Do you have a website of your own? It's very unlikely I'll be needing a SC for this car before next winter, If you saw the condition it's in at the moment you'd understand more...

Victor, just a random thought on using the air pump as part of the air-to-air intercooling system - have you thought about using a smaller pulley on the air pump itself to drive it faster than the rate the factory has it at in order to provide more air into the intercooler?

On that subject, do you recommend nikasil liners on SC engines? I know Porsche normally use these lines on their race engines, is that overkill in this application?

Nikasil allows you to use non Porsche pistons as it is much less sensitive to wear than the silicon layer left by the Alusil in our blocks.

What's wrong with using the stock block? It's what all the cool kids are using.
