Add me to this list of folks who knew (virtually) your father and who will miss his contributions.

I will be bringing a trailer out to Dan's this Wednesday, 10/10/12 in the afternoon to help Joe move some of the stuff that needs to go.
It is 14' x 6-1/2', has a 7 pin connector (electric brakes) and uses a 2" ball. It has been sitting outside for 4-5 years or so, but IIRC it is basically sound. Tires good, electricals good, etc. Any reasonable rig should be able to tow it fine.
I plan on leaving it at Joe's afterwards, until further notice- it will probably be of use to him. It will NOT hold an entire car, but will hold a pile of parts just fine.
If you need to use it for a 928-related purpose, call me 415-279-5116, or better yet talk to Joe.

Joseph, my daughter and I were talking about Dan today. I had no idea he had passed away until I got on the forum this evening and saw this post! He was always quick to help out, no matter how much time or effort was involved. He taught me how to powder coat parts out in your garage when I brought the intake to one of my cars by. He was always willing to swap or loan parts and always had a good answer for all sorts of questions. Dan was a wealth of knowledge. He was a great guy and will be sorely missed. My sincere condolences. I can't tell you how sorry I am.

Joseph, I am so sorry to hear this news. He just sent me an encouraging note concerning my wife's fight with cancer. It has visited our family twice in the last 5 years. We lost one and hopefully the 2nd (wife) will achieve a cure. Dan was always ready to answer my questions no matter how stupid. I never knew him to flame anyone or be otherwise unkind. His wealth of knowledge of 928s will be sorely missed here. I hope you will stay a member, learn all you can and come to love these cars as much as the rest of us do. One word of caution. I understand you are young, These cars can bite you in several ways. The easiest way they can bite is the good ole speeding ticket. They are so smoothe, and fast that with the windows rolled up, you may not notice that you are doing 60 in a 35.
Best of luck to you and your family. Grief is a tough foe to fight but only time and possibly some conseling will help in the future.
If I can ever be of some service to you, or you would just like to talk about the greiving process, pm me and I will send you my phone number.
