Default Confused on an '81 Euro S

Car is an Euro S with the M28/11 motor, 5 spd and no sunroof.
The vin is 92A0821076.
928 Specialists says that 92A081xxxx is a '80 Euro model and the '81 and up carry the 17 digit vin. Where does the 92A082xxxx model fall? '80 or '81?

Thinking about picking up a decent driver while I dig into my '84 Euro interior and trans swap this fall. I figure a Euro S non sunroof 5-spd model with the 300hp motor would be an easy re-sell once I get my car back on the road.

The VIN you list (92A0821076) is a 1980 5-speed with the Euro S 4.7L (300hp) motor using k-jet. No options listed for it, so it has as you say no sunroof, no cruise control, and the 4-speaker sound system. Its obviously the seller or paperwork thats wrong about it being an '81

This thread of Errka's will shed some light on the VIN.. 82xxxx is 928S

If its a decent driver, running well now, unless its an indecent price I would not expect it to hang around. If its not running CI$ can take some effort to revive.

I decided that I will not pursue the car. My car won't be down as long as I first thought after looking at it and what I intend to do. In case anyone is interested, here is the car http://columbus.craigslist.org/cto/3206243982.html and he will sell for $5500.
'80 Euro S 5 spd non sunroof car. He did a repaint on the car years ago. Interior is nice except the dash. He texted me somes pics and verified the M28/11 motor. I still has the Euro H4s as well.

So much fun! That's the car if you think a 928 is a sports car and not a GT.

Paint looks decent, interior looks like it'll clean up pretty well with some good leather cleaner/conditioner, plus it has manual sports seats, no sunroof, a 5-speed gearbox, and the 300hp motor.

Nice looking car!

It is a nice car! And the paint job turned out to be very good original color.
